The 10-5/8" tension spring ensures these discs stay tightly seated and properly adjusted during operation, creating a consistent airflow that pulls away light debris, chaff, and dust before the seed even reaches the screens.

While less common, some vintage or office tester Clipper models utilize 10" external shaking springs to hold and oscillate the screen shoe, or tension springs on the flow-adjustment rod to easily close the grain feed gap.
